| System Description: | My first study for AURUM, Latin for gold, was October 2012. I was looking for a day trading system with low drawdown. You see, I design systems for one person, me. I don't look for the best profits, but low drawdowns and low fear factor. In doing research through through the years I have found the methods that work best have been pattern recognition and range breakout, so I decided to combine these two methods into a system. Fortunately I am a good TradeStation programmer and knew the results were not coincidental since I used one minuter Walk-Forward Optimizations. The toughest part of the project was to find consistent patterns that worked. I found every market has a different personality and gold matched the low drawdown requirements I was looking for. |
